The last Sunday of April is Worldwide Pinhole Day.
Last year was my first participation in it and things didn't go to well. Although I had, had my Ondu for a couple of years, I hadn't really shot with it much and the images turned out pretty underexposed and not very good.
This year I wanted to be ready for it and had, had a good bit of practice last summer, using the Ondu.
Of course, by the time this year's event has rolled around, I have two more pinhole cameras.
As much as I like the Ondu, it is a bit on the large side, being the multi format one and I felt as I wanted something a bit small so bought a reality so subtle 6x6 pinhole, this easily fits in a coat pocket and hardly takes up any room in a bag.
I have also picked up a Chroma camera baby cube pinhole 35mm camera, this shots a 24x24 image and I did have ideas as using it as a kind of half-frame but in all honesty I have only put a couple of rolls through it.
The RSS has a 24mm focal length, so you do need to get pretty close with it.
Being unable to actually make the official day, I put if a photowalk around Greenwich on the Saturday before.
We were only a small group of four but had a great time shooting along the river and in and around the buildings of the Naval college and Greenwich park.
As usual with a photowalk I didn't take to many images but did manage to finish one roll in the RSS, the RSS is very wide so you have to really get in close and that this something I'm still learning.
Below are some of my favourite images from the day.
An interesting set. I recognise the subject of your portrait too! I have the ONDU 6x6 Rise for a very pocketable and versatile pocket-sized set up. Mind you I’ve more pinhole cameras than I admit to including 4x5 and the RSS617. Thank you for sharing
