Canon Selphy Update
This is an update to Canon Selphy 1500 printer.
I've have the printer for over a year now and I have managed to print around 100 images using the printer, originally I thought I would go through the 108 postcards quite quickly but this turned out not to be.
I have mainly printed for myself and family which have ended up either in frames or pinned to the refrigerator.
In the original post I mentioned the the postcard material isn't very thick, which is ok for 90% of the time.
I had hoped to use this as actually postcards but they are too thin to survive the postal services around the world.
Although I have found a way to use them, this is by sticking thicker card to the back and posting them like this.
One thing I do want to see was how the printed image looked being left in direct sunlight for a length of time.
I set up one image in a window that gets sun all day to see how the image would fair over a year.
It's been 11 months since I did this and I thought that was long enough, so how has the image faired?
Well it has faded but that was to be expected. If the whole image had faded, it probably wouldn't look so bad, although is was an extreme test.
Images printed on the same day and stored in out of direct sunlight have not faded.
So after a year of use, I can't really find anything really bad to say about the printer or the prints.
